I might end up creating an actual page for this topic, but here's a start. Librivox.org offers free audio books recorded by volunteers. Some of their recordings are short while others are full-length books. Here's a compilation of the longer works from 2005:
L. Frank Baum - "The Road to Oz"
Frances Hodgson Burnett - "A Little Princess"
Joseph Conrad - "The Secret Agent"
Charles Dickens - "A Christmas Carol"
Fyodor Dostoyevsky - "Notes from the Underground"
E. Nesbit - "Five Children and It"
Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley - "Frankenstein, Modern Prometheus"
Robert Louis Stevenson - "Treasure Island"
Mark Twain - "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court"
P.G. Wodehouse - "Psmith in the City"
